Katja Poković (PhD) graduated in EM dosimetry from ETH Zurich in 1999. In 2001, she become director of Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG) in Zurich and a major contributor to the success of all partner units of the Zurich 43 family. She dedicated her entire professional life to the subject of electromagnetics and the interaction of electromagnetic fields with living organisms. She also was a member of BEMS and won the award for the best scientific paper by a student in 1999.

Sadly, Katja passed away on December 15, 2021. The Katja Poković Research Fund was established to keep Katja’s memory alive and to contribute to further research and education in her field of interest.

Two funding instruments are available: incoming research fellowship positions specifically for female applicants, and funding support for research projects for project leaders, postdoctoral fellows, or Ph.D. students employed by the IT’IS Foundation.
